What if success wasn’t measured only in profits, but in the lives changed along the way?
Can a company be both great and profitable without losing its heart?
This is the story of one family who dared to find out.
Scott Walters shares the inspiring true story of his parents, Faber and Beverly Walters—two people who built a blue-collar company with a higher purpose. There were no investors, no shortcuts, and no fame, just hard work, steady faith, and a conviction that every decision should honor God and value people.
Through years of challenges, missteps, learning, and growth the Walters family discovered that loving people and running a profitable company aren’t opposites; they’re partners.
Their journey shows what happens when a family commits to making life better for their teammates, their customers, and their community—and trusts God to shape the outcome.
Told with warmth, honesty, and grit, this isn’t just a business story . . . it’s an invitation to dream bigger, lead better, and believe your daily work can honor God and change lives.
Because yes, you can build something that lasts.
And no, you don’t have to lose your soul to do it.
Scott Walters never set out to run a company. He set out to serve people. His path to leading Walters Services, the family business he now helps guide, has been anything but straight. After teaching English in Tibet and studying both law and theology, he found himself drawn home to a company his parents built with integrity, hard work, and faith. His writing reflects a journey which is common in family business and is shaped by gratitude, grit, and grace.
