Forty years after six girls swore they’d all wear the crown, the one who never did turns up dead and the others are
still wearing their lies like lipstick.
Six best friends made pinky promises at thirteen: each of them would wear the Prom queen crown once before they all graduate high school. It was supposed to be fun, until the lies got slicker than lip gloss and one of their crowns was stolen. Forty years later, the Tellico Queens return for their high school reunion. Older, louder and still competing for attention. But when the one who never got her crown turns up dead, old promises curdle into suspicion. Sequins crack, secrets spill, and a detective starts asking questions none of them want to answer. Pinky swears don't always age well in small towns and some promises fester quietly only to explode in glitter, lies, and blood.
